America was a great adult male. He fought for what he saw as the populace? s involvement.

Teddy was the youngest president of all time. He was merely 42 old ages old. He was

non the youngest elective president that award falls to John F. Kennedy. He

took office in 1901 when William McKinley was assassinated. He would

go one of America? s strongest and most memorable presidents. I will

split his life into three sections to state his narrative: before he was president,

while he was president and eventually after he was president. I will chiefly concentrate

on his presidential term.

BEFORE HE WAS PRESIDENT

Theodore Roosevelt Jr. was born in New York City in 1858. He was the

descendent of Claes Martenssen new wave Rosenvelt who had moved from Holland

to New York City in 1649. Teddy was the 2nd of four brothers and sisters.

His male parent, Theodore Roosevelt Sr. , had married Martha Bulloch who was from

the South. Roosevelt? s male parent did non function in the Union ground forces because many

of his married woman? s relations were functioning in the Confederacy. Although he was non

enlisted he did function as in adviser to the Union forces.

Teddy was in private educated and attended Harvard but ne’er was a

mastermind but he was a difficult worker. He studied difficult to achieve what others did

non hold to work so hard at to derive. His favourite topic in school was natural

history. He was fascinated by the topic. He enjoyed physical activities such

as fishing, pugilism, hunting, and wrestling. In 1878 he met Alice Hathaway Lee

while go toing Harvard they were married several months subsequently. Now Teddy

set out to happen a calling

He foremost tried the jurisprudence profession by inscribing in Columbia University. He

did non bask it and shortly left school. He published his first book in 1882 it was

entitled? The Naval War of 1812? . He had begun work on it while still at

Harvard. Then Teddy decided that he would seek a calling in political relations. His first

place was on the province assembly in the province of New York. He ran as a

republican and won the place easy. At this place he did two major

things: foremost he exposed a corrupt justice and secondly he learned to work with

work forces from both parties. Alternatively of traveling for a 2nd term of legislative assembly he

decided that he would travel to the Republican National Convention in Chicago.

He went as the president for the New York deputation.

While Roosevelt? s professional life was booming his personal life was

non in really good form. In 1884 both his married woman and female parent died. His married woman died

while giving birth to their girl, Alice. Roosevelt would take a interruption from

political relations and organize the Elkhorn spread on the Little Missouri River in the Dakota

District. On his spread he led the life of a cowpuncher. He would round up cowss

and sit Equus caballuss all twenty-four hours. It was a good interruption for Roosevelt. One narrative Tells of

Roosevelt capturing three stealers and keeping them at gun point for 6 yearss

until they reached the proper governments. Besides during this clip Roosevelt

wrote 2 more books ( Hunting Trips of a Ranch Man and Thomas Hart Benton )

and fell in love with Edith Kermit Carow. On December 2, 1886 Roosevelt and

Carow went to London to be married. When they returned to the United

States Roosevelt set his head

back on political relations.

He was really active in the presidential run of 1888 when Benjamin

Harrison defeated Grover Cleveland. Roosevelt believed in engaging authorities

workers on their accomplishments non based on their party association. At the clip the

victor of the race would engage every 1 that had helped them win the race

even if they were non qualified for the place. Harrison would present his

attempts by naming him the U.S. Civil Services Commissioner. As

commissioner he would go on to dispute? backing? . He did such a

good occupation that when Cleveland beat Harrison for reelection he kept him as Civil

Servicess Commissioner. In 1895 Roosevelt would return to New York City to

take the place of Police Commissioner. He would conflict constabulary corruptness

and seek to reform the constabulary section in his old ages as commissioner. He

would so go Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

In 1898 after the U.S. had declared war on Spain Roosevelt resigned

from his place so he could organize what would go known as the Rough

Riders. While in Cuba Teddy would derive celebrity in the documents for his dare

and intelligence in conflict. After the war he would be elected governor of New

York. Soon subsequently New York Senator Thomas Platt would convert him to

tally with McKinley as Vice President. McKinley won but eight yearss subsequently he

was shot and Roosevelt became President of the United States.

AS PRESIDENT

One of the major things Roosevelt did as President was come up with

what he called the? Square Deal? . In this? Square Deal? he planned that

everyone would be treated the same and that the rich should non be given

particular privileges that the hapless were non given. One of Roosevelt? s more

celebrated quotation marks was? Speak quietly but carry a large stick? . The large stick was the

menace of war on forgein states.

Another major achievement of Roosevelt? s disposal was the

edifice of the Panama Canal which he would oversee during his clip in

office. In 1904 he would be elected to his 2nd term in office. He defeated

because he before had promised non to run for a 3rd term. This left the

Republican slot for president unfastened. It was filled with William Taft who with

Roosevelt? s endorsing would weave the presidential term.

AFTER THE PRESIDENCY

Subsequently in 1912 after Taft had enraged him, Roosevelt decided to run for

the presidential term once more. On his run circuit while in Milwaukee person

attempted to assassinate him. He survived and pressed on but he would lose

the race to democrat Woodrow Wilson. He spent most of the remainder of his life
